Step 1: Ensure that your family meets all 3 tiers of CORE Qualifying Grant Criteria.

 

Step 2: Gather All Required Documents.

  • During the CORE application process, you will be required to provide documents related to your monthly household expenses, CORE qualifying circumstance(s), and your family.
  • Visit CORE’s Comprehensive Document Guide for details on what you can and should submit for review.
    • Please note, providing your documents when you submit your application will speed up your application process. Applications with documents included will be prioritized over applications lacking appropriate documents.

 

Step 3: Complete & submit a CORE Grant Application.

Step 4: Wait patiently as your application undergoes initial screening by the CORE Grant Administration team.

  • A CORE Grant Administrator will contact you via email with our initial screening decision within 7 business days of your application submission.
  • During this time you can use your Submittable portal to email the CORE team with any questions you may have or if you would like to edit or add more documentation to your application.

 

Step 5: Case-Evaluation Interview

  • If you pass the initial screening, you will be invited to schedule a Case-Evaluation Interview (a one-on-one phone call) with a CORE Grant Administrator.
    • In some circumstances, your assigned Grant Administrator may reach out to you via phone call before scheduling a Case-Evaluation Interview.
    • If you schedule a Case-Evaluation Interview, answer your phone at your scheduled time. Our Grant Administrators are remarkably busy and work multiple cases at once. Attending your scheduled appointment time will help your Grant Administrator process your application faster.
    • During this step, you may be asked to provide additional documentation.
    • During this time you can use your Submittable portal to email the CORE team with any questions you may have or if you would like to edit or add more documentation to your application.

 

Step 6: Wait patiently as your application is reviewed by the CORE Grant Review Committee. 

  • Once all of the necessary documentation is received your Grant Administrator will present your case to the CORE Grant Review Committee for consideration.
  • The Grant Review Committee meets weekly to review all cases that are ready for deliberation. You will be notified within 48 hours of the Grant Review Committee’s decision on your application for support.
  • If necessary, your Grant Administrator will contact you for any additional information or documents needed before a decision is reached. Your case decision may be delayed until the next meeting once all requests are reconciled.

Step 7: Decision Notification and Next Steps

  • If your CORE Grant Application is accepted, you will be provided with forms related to your specific award package. These forms are required and must be completed before any grant payments will be made.
  • If your CORE Grant Application is declined, you will be notified within 48 hours of the Grant Review Committee’s decision via a phone call.

Step 8: Payment Processcing

  • Once CORE receives the necessary payment forms from you all payments in your award package will be made within 5 business days.
    • CORE makes direct payments for rents and mortgages to property owners, property managers, and mortgage lenders.
    • CORE makes direct payments to car loan lenders.
    • CORE distributes awarded funds for expenses such as utilities, formula, diapers, groceries, and other family needs in the form of a VISA Gift Card. Once the necessary payment forms are submitted awarded grantee, a CORE branded VISA Gift Card will be ordered within 7 business days.
    • Once CORE receives the necessary payment forms from you all payments in your award package will be made within 5 business days.
  • One all awarded payments are complete, you will receive an email from CORE Program Director, Kristen Davis, containing your payment details and other essential information.

 

Step 9: Payment Awarded Notification

  • One all awarded payments are complete, you will receive an email from the CORE Program Director, Kristen Davis, containing your payment details, an invitation to complete an Exit Interview, and other essential information.
  • Among receiving a CORE Grant you will be automatically registered to receive CORE’s quarterly family newsletter containing relevant industry news, organization news, and upcoming opportunities through CORE: Children of Restaurant Employees.
