Bookkeeper (part-time)

Part-Time 20 – 25 hours a week

Compensation $20 per hour (negotiable based on experience) CORE: Children of Restaurant Employees, a national 501(c)3 provides financial grants to Food and Beverage service employees, with children who have faced a qualifying circumstance such as medical diagnosis, injuries, death of the employee, spouse or child, or natural disasters. CORE is seeking a part-time bookkeeper to join our growing team.

Position:

Reporting to the CORE Treasurer, the part-time bookkeeper works alongside the Treasurer in a fast-growing non-profit. We work with companies that support our efforts and qualifying families in need across the United States.

Accounting/Bookkeeping Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting processes, including but not limited to: A/P, A/R, journal entries, and bank reconciliation in accordance with GAAP.
  • Prepare Journal Entries for prepaid expenses, deferred revenue, and payroll cash accounts.
  • Process and pay all invoices in a timely manner.
  • Receive and deposit all organizational revenue.
  • Manage credit card reconciliation and tracking.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports, including standard financial reports, budget vs. actual reports and grant-specific financial reports.
  • Work closely with outside CPA/Treasurer to execute month-end closing procedures and postings.
  • Coordinate with outside CPA and Auditors in preparation of year-end audit and IRS990/State CT-12 filings.
  • Support Treasurer, Executive Board, and Executive Director in development and analysis of annual organization budget.
  • Work with Program Director(s) to process grants to clients.
  • Support Corporate Partnerships Director in developing grant proposal budgets and managing A/R & A/P for events and fundraising activations through partnerships, conferences, and events.
  • Perform miscellaneous administrative tasks related to the grant and accounting processes.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Accounting degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Ability to maintain accounting procedures and policies, and systems of internal controls to ensure the integrity of all financial systems.
  • Proven record of interacting with banks digital interfaces
  • Experience overseeing and processing cash flow.
  • Excellent track record for performing non-routine tasks requiring strong judgment and initiative.
  • 2+ years’ work experience in a bookkeeping/accounting function
  • Experience working in nonprofit multi-fund accounting, including experience tracking and reporting financial data for third party fundraisers, special events and grant funders is a plus.
  • Strong QuickBooks skills, including all normal accounting transactions, GL management, budgeting, and reporting.
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Experience working through a financial audit is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Attention to detail, strong communication, and problem-solving are all critical skills for success in this role.
  • Position based in Kennesaw, GA, 20- 25 hours per week, some hybrid capability.
  • Travel requirements: Occasional travel may be needed but less than 10%.
