Combined with an extensive background in restaurant franchising, shared services, and customer service, Blayne is excited to bring this experience to the non-profit arena.

Jill Chapman

Jill Chapman
Jill Chapman is the Corporate Partnership Director at CORE. Her 30 year career began just after graduating from Ohio University, when she was named the Lead Advance Coordinator for the 1992 national Vice Presidential election campaign. Past positions include being Events Manager for the Cincinnati USA Chamber of Commerce, and more recently, the Vice President of Events and Sponsorships for the Galveston Regional Chamber of Commerce. she broke records in annual revenue through expansion of corporate sponsorships, as well as creating new avenues for income. One of her many career highlights was in 2022 producing the two largest and financially successful events in the Galveston Regional Chamber’s 178 year history. Jill's cumulative experiences in sales, marketing and sponsorship development, coupled with a tireless work ethic, make her uniquely qualified to develop and maintain valued relationships that will enable CORE to meet and surpass their goals. She is excited to be a part of the CORE team.

Colleen Brennan

CORE Chair / Rodney Strong Vineyards

Colleen Brennan
Colleen Brennan is a wine industry professional recognized for her innovative sales and marketing achievements which span over 20 years in the beverage and restaurant industries. She is currently vice president of national accounts for Rodney Strong Wine Estates, where she is responsible for business development, marketing, strategic planning, budgeting and sales for all on premise national account chains. Prior to joining Rodney Strong in 2012, she was director of global accounts and the on-premise marketing specialist at Ste. Michelle Wine Estates where she supervised sales to more than 30 restaurant chains. In this role, she increased sales by 65% over a six-year period and was recognized as the 2007 Salesperson of the Year for Antinori Italian wine brand. Brennan has also held executive level positions with leading restaurant companies including O’Charley’s and Cypress Companies. She served as director of beverage marketing at O’Charley’s, in charge of managing and growing beverage programs and profits for the restaurant chain’s 200 locations. Brennan’s consultative and creative approach to sales and marketing includes developing an innovative wine and spirits training tool for servers at O’Charley’s that dramatically increased product knowledge and beverage sales. She also created successful incentive contests that boosted sales and team member morale. One promotion resulted in over 200,000 incremental beverages sold during the first 10 weeks alone, representing a 200% increase in sales of one featured drink which became O’Charley’s top-selling beverage. Brennan’s creative strategies earned her a Cheers Beverage Excellence Award for best beverage promotion during this time. As director of restaurant marketing at Cypress Companies, owner of several chain concepts including Denny’s, Houlihan’s and An Tobar Irish Pub, she oversaw all marketing activities for 60 restaurants and pubs across five states. Brennan began her restaurant industry career at Pizzeria Uno Chicago Bar and Grill where she served as a field marketing manager for all corporate-owned locations in Florida. Brennan currently serves on the Board of Directors for The California Restaurant Association’s Education Foundation and on the Board of Directors for Children of Restaurant Employees (CORE). She has also served on several industry boards including the American Beverage Institute (Committee Chairperson),Cheer’s Magazine and the Millennium Group. Brennan holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Political Science from Yale University.

Joe Smith

Past Chair / Monin Gourmet Flavorings

Jo Smith
Joe Smith joined Monin Americas as their Executive Vice President of Sales in 2001. He has restructured the sales and customer service departments and implemented a strategic business development plan, as well as expanded staff in the beverage innovation space. Under Joe’s leadership, Monin has been awarded multiple beverage excellence honors by operators and organizations, including Cheers Magazine’s Small Non-Alcoholic Beverage Supplier of the Year award nine years in a row and the Vibe Conference’s Non-Alcoholic Supplier of the Year since the inception of the award ten years ago. Additionally, Chick-fil-A has recognized Monin for Outstanding Performance; Bloomin’ Brands named Monin a Supplier of the Year; and Darden Restaurants has bestowed on Monin the William B. Darden Award. Prior to joining Monin, Joe spent 15 years at Hills Brothers Coffee. Joe’s sales accomplishments with the brand included the opening and successful development of the company’s eastern region, development of the largest national foodservice chain account, expansion into several new classes of trade and improved distribution coverage, resulting in consistent double-digit growth for the company. Joe also spent nine years at Ocean Spray Cranberries, Inc. where he held positions as a National Account Manager and Senior National Account Manager before being promoted to Director of National Accounts Sales. His accomplishments were recognized in 1997 when he was honored as Sales Manager of the Year. More recently, Joe was bestowed the Vibe’s 2020 Industry Legend Award, Hospitality Executive Exchange’s 2018 Icon Award, CORE’s (Children of Restaurant Employees) Lifetime Achievement Award and the 2014 Icon Award from the Millennium Board. Joe currently serves as a board member for Hospitality Executive Exchange and the Flavor Conference, as well as being on the executive committee of CORE. Joe is a graduate of Northeastern University and resides in both Boston and Florida. He has been married to his wife, Deanne for 49 years and they have two children and two grandsons. Joe enjoys listening to music, playing tennis and golf, collecting sports memorabilia and fast cars.

Larry McGinn

Larry McGinn
Larry joined IMI Agency in 2000, following 23 years on the alcohol and non-alcohol National Accounts Supplier side of the business. After working for Suppliers who support National Beverage Programs (Anheuser-Busch, Paddington, DIAGEO and Island Oasis), Larry joined IMI Agency and over the past 15 years led the building of IMI’s Hospitality Client roster to over 30 National On-Premise Chains. Obsessively dedicated to Building Better Beverage Business with each IMI Client, Larry and his Team become each Client’s strategic beverage consultant and legally permissible activation arm in creating effective and profitable beverage programs. Larry’s proudest accomplishment in his 38 years in the industry is assisting in the establishment and growth of CORE.

Jerry began his sales and marketing career as a second-generation employee of the Joseph E. Seagram Company in New York City in 1978 and currently serves as the Vice President of National Accounts at Proximo Spirits.

Barry Gutin

Barry Gutin
As Principal and Co-founder of GuestCounts Hospitality, Barry provides the vision, strategy and leadership behind its hospitality concepts. Barry has led the development of distinctive concepts that have transformed dining, nightlife and special event scenes on the East Coast. Having the vision to identify trends and circumvent fads, GuestCounts Hospitality’s concepts stand the test of time. GuestCounts Hospitality founded Cuba Libre Restaurant & Rum Bar in 2000 and now operates four locations on the U.S. East Coast. Prior to forming GuestCounts Hospitality, Barry and his business partner Larry Cohen, operated some of the most impressive and successful food, beverage and entertainment facilities in the Northeast including Egypt Nightclub, Shampoo Nightclub, and 32° Luxe Lounge. The pair built a growing multi-division company with revenue exceeding $40 million prior to their 2017 sale of the premier catering company Brûlée Catering by Chef Jean Marie Lacroix to a division of Comcast Corporation. In addition to Barry’s experience in food and beverage operations, he has expertise in marketing, public relations and entertainment production. Barry has a longstanding involvement in the Nightclub & Bar Media and Trade Show (now Bar & Restaurant Expo), formerly serving as Vice Chairman on its Advisory Board, speaking at its annual conference and tradeshow and writing articles on operations and marketing. Barry grew up in the Bronx, New York, moving the Philadelphia area in 1975 to work at his father’s South New Jersey restaurant and attend the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania, from which he graduated Summa Cum Laude in 1979. He has worked in the hospitality industry ever since.

Stacey Kane has more than 25 years of experience working with multi-unit restaurant chains as a Head of Marketing and as a Marketing Consultant. She has worked with such brands as California Tortilla, ThinkFoodGroup, Subway and East Coast Wings + Grill. Known for her incredible creativity and obsession with data ,she was one of has been named to the Top 25 Movers and Shakers List by Fast Casual Magazine four times and Nation’s Restaurant News Power List – Readers Pick twice. Currently, Kane is a fractional Chief Marketing Officer for several fast casual brands including cult favorites Mamoun’s Falafel and Garden Catering. She stepped in as a consultant to help guide CORE’s marketing efforts in April of 2020.

Rachael Kelly

Rachael Kelly is the founder of HiveStrong, an organization dedicated to supporting abuse survivors through their journey of empowerment. A hospitality veteran, Kelly was previously the Chief People & Culture Officer for Smokey Bones, The WingX, and The BurgerX. In her role, Kelly was responsible for end-to-end human capital management, facilitating an employee-engaged culture, and serving as a trusted member of the executive team who guided the organization to achieve its strategic goals. Kelly is a career human resources and operations professional, having started with Pizza Hut, where she worked through various roles during her 18-year tenure with the global pizza leader. Her climb through the ranks landed Kelly in her final role as HR Consultant to the National Pizza Hut franchise system supporting 150 franchisees and nearly 6,000 restaurants before serving in key leadership roles for other restaurant brands prior to joining Smokey Bones. Kelly was previously named Woman of the Year by the National Diversity Council, along with other accolades including being named Most Influential Restaurant Industry Executive by Nation’s Restaurant News and Top 50 Human Resources Professional by Oncon Icon Awards. Kelly is based in Dallas, TX where she raises her two special needs boys.

In 2014, Ryan Dion partnered with Westford-based developer, Robert Walker, to create 110 Grill, which currently has over 40 locations in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, Connecticut, and Rhode Island. As the Chief Executive Officer of 110 Grill & RA Ventures Hospitality, Dion oversees the brand’s rapidly expanding growth and global operations throughout the Northeast and into Florida. Dion has received multiple awards over the years, including the Massachusetts Restaurant Association’s “Restaurateur of the Year” in 2020, as well as the MetroWest Chamber of Commerce’s “Business Leader of the Year” in 2017. 110 Grill features an award-winning allergy commitment and modern American cuisine in an upscale-casual atmosphere. It has been named one of the most allergy-friendly restaurant brands in the United States by AllergyEats. 110 Grill has partnered with organizations like ProStart to help grow the future of the restaurant industry. Prior to founding 110 Grill, Dion was a General Managing Partner at a privately held upscale casual restaurant company with locations in 5 different states. He holds degrees in business and hospitality from the University of New Hampshire and lives in Westford, Massachusetts with his wife, Hilary and two sons.

Richard Schneider

Richard Schneider
Richard is a top-performing hospitality executive credited with combining brand operations and marketing expertise to deliver substantial revenue growth in highly competitive business markets. He currently serves as the CDO of Areas USA responsible for the company’s growth, government affairs, community affairs, brands/concept development, and construction. While Richard is a highly competent mechanic of day-to-day execution, at his core he is a true culinarian and has helped redefine our culinary culture and strategy. Richard has developed many strong culinary relationships across the country in multiple verticals to help design award-winning concepts. Richard also serves as a member of the National Restaurant Association Board of Directors and as a member of the Board of Trustees for the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation. In 2024, Richard will assume the position of Vice Chair of the National Restaurant Association Board of Directors. He is also a member of the Florida Restaurant and Lodging Association Board of Directors, and the FRLA Education Foundation as a Trustee. Additionally, Richard also serves as a member of the Illinois Restaurant Association Education Foundation Board of Trustees. He assisted in creating the Areas Cares program to support the communities we serve and led a community education program in supporting local high school culinary programs through culinary and financial support to help students gain experience and opportunities. Richard joined us from Spectra where he served as Executive Vice President/COO and Head of Foodservice for Spectra responsible for day-to-day food-related operations across 243 Spectra food venues and the operations of Brulee Catering. Previously, he was also COO of Delaware North’s Sportservice, COO of Delaware North’s airport food and retail business, and Vice President of Hospitality and Guest Services, Gaming and Entertainment. His background also includes leadership positions with Midwest Gaming and Entertainment, Caesars Entertainment, and MGM Entertainment. In service to his community, he currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Dexsta Federal Credit Union and as a Member of the New Castle County Financial Advisory Council. He has previously served on the Boards of the Buffalo Boys and Girls Club, New England Ronald McDonald House, Detroit Ronald McDonald House, and Career Opportunity Development Inc. in Southern New Jersey amongst many others.

Aaron Weedy

Aaron Weedy is Chief Financial Officer at Ledo Pizza, a 120-unit casual pizza concept with locations in seven east coast states plus the District of Columbia. Aaron has more than 25 years of experience in financial strategy, business development, and capital growth for mid-size organizations within franchise hospitality and restaurant industries. He has been with Ledo for 20+ years, joining the company in 2002. His current responsibilities include financial control, supply chain management and corporate strategy. Before joining Ledo, Aaron worked in distribution and financial services. In addition, Aaron serves as Chair to the IFMA Restaurant Leadership Council. He received his bachelor’s degree in finance from Towson University and resides in Annapolis, Maryland.

Sherry King
Sherry is CFO of IMI Agency whose team is dedicated to Building Better Beverage Business and advocating for CORE. This role allowed her to begin working with CORE at its inception in 2004 and she is honored to now be part of the Executive Board as Treasurer. Sherry’s 40 years in Accounting and Finance has allowed her to work in a variety of industries including 20+ years with IMI. None of those roles matched the energy of the beverage industry which is at the heart of CORE. Sherry resides in metropolitan Atlanta.

Mara Lee

Mara Lee
Mara Lee, over twenty years as a professional in beverage and entertainment, working for experiential and multicultural agencies, beverage and glassware suppliers, and currently representing The Boston Beer Company. Sporting sales and marketing hats throughout her career, Mara has a proven track record of generating new points of distribution and long-term opportunities through successful collaborative partnerships. She is known for helping brands build a strong presence through development of on-premise strategy and execution to market. Mara is an event guru to boot. On tour with Earth, Wind and Fire, drink symposiums in Jamaica, spirited and education activations in New Orleans to Aspen. Brand launches with the likes of Gumball 3000, reviving custom glassware molds in France, to developing programs for the World’s Oldest Brewery here in the U.S. Outside of work and throughout her life, Mara has always been a philanthropist. At an early age, she got involved with the Special Olympics and eventually led a college student-athlete volunteer program with the Director of Sports Business and Professional Development to engage athletes with hospital patients and K-12 students. This work led her to mentor and coach with Team In Training and eventually, in 2004, she along with four other beverage industry professionals founded CORE (Children Of Restaurant Employees) and remains an active Board Member and contributor to the Marketing and Event Committees supporting the organization today.
